The Lamb of God

by Dot Zweil

The Lamb of God from glory bright

Came to this world in darkest night.

Shepherds were told about His birth

By visiting angels to the earth.

The shepherds looked up on the Lamb

In human flesh–the great I AM.

Where would a tiny lambkin lay

But in a stable on some hay,

Yet perceive the Father’s love,

His grace descending from above,

To give His only begotten Son

For fallen man by sin undone.

All praise to God who gave His Son,

All Praise to His anointed one,

Who all God’s holy love fulfilled

And grace and glory lavishly spilled,

That we in wonder would come to know

The Lamb of God who loved us so.
